Speaking at TedxYouth in Orange, CA

Confluence is about the merging of ideas, and I had the opportunity to speak at the TedxYouth event at Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, CA this spring. This was the second time I was asked to do a Tedxtalk (the first was TedxLecce in Italy.) One would think that it would get easier the second time around but I felt like it was harder! I had major writer’s block and was second-guessing everything I wanted to talk about. The topic of “what true influence is a social media world” really weighed on my heart as the word “influencer” now defined as someone with a social media following…but how does that translate in real life? In the end, I think it came together well and I can’t wait to share it when it goes online. For now here are some photos from the event!

From the organizers: TEDxConfluence aims to share stories that involve the coming together of factors or ideas from different origins. Our goal is to promote interdisciplinary discussions that encourage explorations of relationships between seemingly unrelated topics to generate innovative ideas that have the potential of producing significant outcomes. We hope to introduce a diverse spectrum of perspectives to our audience and inspire more insightful conversations that will bring positivity to our societies.
