“X Men: First Class 3D” Projection party at Roosevelt Hotel

I hadn’t been out in a while so it was nice to take a break from the grind of post production and check out this event. (and have an excuse to wear my fun boutique finds from Barcelona :P) It was definitely “First Class”. They projected the movie on the side of the Roosevelt hotel!
I was so excited when I learned I would be featured in YRB Magazine’s Travel Issue that included the likes of others such as singer Jessie J, Man vs Food’s Adam Richman, big wave surfer Maya Gabeira! (Its the one with Ryan Kwanten from True Blood on the cover). Reading about how other people travel inspires my own adventures in this funny thing called life. It was a great shoot thanks to Kristin Durante-make up/hair, Shelley Viall-stylist, and the amazing eye of photographer Jeff Forney. Here’s the result!
I love sharing my wanderlust with others and helping people plan their trips. So when Concierge Q asked me to share some advice about one of my favorite places, I had to talk about my happy place, Honolulu Hawaii! Aloha! enjoy 🙂

Angela Sun is an award-winning journalist and television host best known for her work with ESPN, Current TV and MTV. An established writer and sports lover, Angela rose to fame becoming ESPN’s first Asian-American Female reporter in addition to the Tennis Channel’s first Asian-American anchor. She is also a successful documentary producer and sportscaster.
Her passion for adventure and travel has taken her to over 35 countries during her career, from researching the Great Barrier Reef to hosting the red carpets of Hollywood. Her work extends to many countries including Australia, Guatemala, the Philippines and her native background China.
Angela has also appeared in feature films (Street Kings, A Perfect Getaway) and several commercial and print campaigns for big-name companies including Hewlett Packard and Honda.
This month, Angela shares with StarsEntertainment.com exclusively her funniest memory, most challenging situation and her plans for the summer. Read on to get the scoop.
First memory that pops into your head?
Nervous and shaking after performing to the largest crowd I’ve ever played guitar in front of. Least Complicated by Indigo Girls, as a duet with my friend at our annual talent show at UCLA, Spring Sing.
Hardest thing you ever had to do?
Produce, shoot, create, and host the independent documentary project Plastic Paradise, about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Hardest yet most rewarding learning experience of my life thus far.
Funniest thing you can think of that you saw/heard/experienced?
Honestly? The time my cousin gave me a ride on her shoulders when I was a kid, and we turned around to look at ourselves in the mirror, and upon seeing how silly we looked I ended up laughing so hard I peed my pants, subsequently peeing all over her.
Best prank you ever did/received?
I convinced my friend who had never been to In N Out Burger that on the underground menu you could order it Doggy Style. When she went to order it, the reaction on the cashier’s face, and my friend’s flushed cheeks was priceless.
Five things you cannot live without:
1. My family and friends

4. My leather day planner with which I pencil everything in

If you could invite three people to dinner, who would it be and why?
Oprah – to raise a glass to her influence on society, and to find out how she does it all
Nicholas Kristof – to hear his craziest, scariest, and most rewarding off the record story he’s encountered in his career
Kim Jong Il – I just got back from a trip to the DMZ, so it’s fresh on my mind. So little is known about the world’s most secretive dictator, any conversation would be revealing. I want to find out more about one of the most isolated nations in the world.
What are you looking forward to this summer?
Summer of concerts! So far I’ve been to Jack Johnson, Coachella, Glee Live, Bruno Mars, Matt and Kim, U2, and looking forward to Rihanna, Maroon 5, Train, Gavin Degraw, Sara Bareilles, Hollywood bowl nights, Santa Monica concerts on the pier, SF Outside lands!
